6 what makes a good solder though?[/Quote]
for general soldering a standard solder 60%/40% tin/lead.
this can be used on most applications depending what your doing I'd recommend having a variety of diameters
like .8mm, 1.5mm, and 2mm so if you need to do some filling you can use the broader diameter or just use it to tin the end of your Iron.

Anonymous 202 | You can remove solder from a PCB board safely by using a copper wick. What it is is a mesh of fine strands of copper. Place the wick over the area you want to remove solder, heat the area up with a fat-tipped soldering iron, and the mesh will soak up the solder tin very quickly. Afterwards, clean with some alcohol.
Copper wicks are pretty expensive though. |

Anonymous 202 | Solder is a metal compound that you heat with a soldering iron. It melts at high temperatures becomes a solid again rapidly. You can use it to attach metal components together. |
efb 6 | There we go. I have added it under tips. |
efb 6 | Removing Solder requires longer instructions so I'll add an article for you. |
