Quick Voltage Dropper

If you fliped through our section on semiconductor you might have noticed that silicon diode need at least 0.6 volt to work and reduce the voltage by 0.6 volts. So we can take advantage of that.

You can remove solder from a PCB board safely by using a copper wick. What it is is a mesh of fine strands of copper. Place the wick over the area you want to remove solder, heat the area up with a fat-tipped soldering iron, and the mesh will soak up the solder tin very quickly. Afterwards, clean with some alcohol.

Copper wicks are pretty expensive though.

Solder is a metal compound that you heat with a soldering iron. It melts at high temperatures becomes a solid again rapidly. You can use it to attach metal components together.
