chassis ground - Connection to a chassis. floating ground - Conmmon connection in a circuit that provides a return path for current but is not connected to an earth ground. ground - An intentional or accidental conducting path between an electrical system or circuit and the earth or some conducting body acting in place of the earth. A ground is often used as the common wiring point or reference in a circuit. negative ground - A system where the negative terminal of the source is connected to the system's metal chassis. positive ground - A system whereby the positive terminal of the source is connected to the system's conducting chassis.
